Darlin’ were a French band from the early 90’s. They received such a bad review of their two song EP that they used the description of their music from the review as the name for their new band. Thanks to that one bad review, they called their new band “Daft Punk”. Their friend Laurent went on to form a band called Phoenix. 

I started getting kind of bored with it and almost agreed with that review, but once the strange-sounding guitar kicked in towards the end I was sold.
