You are truly a great.
How I love my mp3 collection.
One second, I’m on top of the world, listening to Queen,
and by the next, Elliott Smith comes on and now I’m wallowing in melancholy.

Neglected to mention (just like last time I went), but I’m in upstate New York (Jamestown) again.
One memorable thing about these trips has always been the fact that my relatives up here leave the kitchen radio on 24/7, usually tuned to an oldies station.
The stations always seem to play very particular songs around certain times of the year. It’s strange.
I could remember being up here once around the same time of year, as a 15-year-old, and I’d hear this song once or twice. Wondered what it’d be like to sneak around with someone you’re into like that. I’d start to yearn. And then “Red Rubber Ball” would come on and I’d feel a tiny bit better for a total of 10 minutes.
I remember all this because I was in the kitchen some minutes ago and it was playing.
We’ve got another double-header thanks to another forgotten Friday (can’t even remember where I was or what I was doing.)
First is Today’s Document. The good news is that they seem to update every day. The bad news is that it usually only pertains to United States history. So naturally this is going to be a very niche blog (but hey, if blogs like “Paula Deen Riding Things” have an audience then of course this will too.) I’m not saying the US doesn’t have interesting history; it’d just be cooler if it were a bit more global.
Second is Minus Manhattan. A very well-known Tumblr… I think. Pretty sure I found it in the Radar. And I think the person who runs it moderates some of the Tags on here. Mostly just posts cool pictures. It’s a personalized variety blog, like so many others (mine especially could fall into that category), but taking a look at the first few pages won it over for me.
